Solo Leveling review
A webtoon that is destined to get an anime adaptation.

When reading the first few chapters I did get annoyed by how cliche their whole plot was at first glance; the whole Weak MC becomes strong trope. It gave off the impression that Solo leveling had a pretty shallow plot which is nothing but far from the truth. However for some reason I didn't mind following such a over saturated story concept. One could say even though it was a overpopulated theme basically being regurgitated to us other aspects of the manga is what really captivated me and kept me reading up until the end.

One would be the character development.
Sung in my eyes is truly one finely crafted character. Even though no direct characterisation is showcased, through his actions and dialogue alone, I as the reader could tell what type of a person sung truly is. Think of it as, "he was so well developed that if the mange ever left me on a cliff hanger I already knew what sung was about to do next." No, i'm not saying he is a boring predicable MC but rather he is one MC that appears to be more "human" in terms of a fictional character.

Two would be the production quality itself.
Webtoons in my opinion are more enjoyable to look at than your traditional Japanese manga. I dont know the colour difference really does it for me tbh and solo leveling does not disappoint with well drawn fights which are detailed to the bone I would say as far as "artworks" are concerned Solo leveling out plays its fellow webtoon buddies such as Tower of God.

Lasty it would be the rush atmosphere conveyed by Solo leveling.
From chapter one up until the very last chapter I always felt a sense of urgency while reading solo leveling. The pacing of different arcs was done in such fast way that I never got bored and was always on edge to find out what would happen next and in my eyes that is something all action "shounen" type webtoons/mangas should aim for.

Conclusion
Its a good read and i would definitely recommend it to action junkies who cant get enough of well drawn fights and an interesting plot which has some depth to it.

Fire Emblem: Hikari wo Tsugu Mono review
Warning: If you haven't played the game, there's little point in reading this manga, as it will make little sense to you. For the most part, it assumes you know the characters and are aware of the plot. But if you have played the game, then Hikari wo Tsugumono/Light Inheritors is a must-read.

As with all the Seisen manga, HwT provides a depth to the characters that is sorely lacking in-game. A few characters hog most of the screentime, but most of your favorite 2nd gen characters make an appearance at some point or another. (Except Leen, but who needs her?) Even a few 1st gen characters get flashback scenes, most of which are quite poignant. I especially loved the way that Levin was characterized - Nea Fuyuki does a fantastic job of emphasizing how different he is from the Prince Levin of 1st gen.

This manga does not cover all of the 2nd gen, but that enables it to take time with its pacing, and there's still plenty of Seisen story to cover in these five volumes of manga.

I felt that where this manga really shone in comparison to the other two official Seisen manga was the artwork. Simply put, it's absolutely gorgeous. All the guys all bishies (even Finn, who inexplicably has long hair...probably my only complaint with this manga). It's actually fairly shoujo-y, with less emphasis on the battles and the fighting, and more emphasis on how beautiful everyone is and how they should all pair off. That's not to say that it doesn't have its fight scenes - there was one scene in particular during the fight with Blume/Ishtar that I actually went back to and stared at for a few minutes.

Anyway, I feel that anybody who enjoyed Seisen should definitely pick up HwT. It's a short read, but it definitely makes the 2nd gen feel alive and magical again, which is what any good Fire Emblem manga should be aiming for.

Maico 2010 review
The summary makes this seem like this is going to have a lot of cool ideas for realizing a futuristic, sexy vibe. It really doesn't, so it kinda disappointed me. The main problem is that it almost never plays to its strengths, Maiko and Rie. Especially at the beginning, it spends WAY too much time on Matsuo, the utterly generic male lead who feels totally out of place. When it's not focused on him and his feelings about the various girls throwing themselves at him, it's busy doing nude scenes that rarely did anything for me because there was no heat to them.

I will say that it definitely picked up in the second volume and the third volume was the high point. After Rie gets involved and there's more than one outlet for the futuristic stuff, there's more excuses for action and character moments that have nothing to do with Matsuo. Honestly, this should have just been a yuri comic about Maiko and Rie. They had such great, adorable energy that was just absent everywhere else.

The end of the third volume runs us directly into a plot railroad that brings everything to a large-scale finale in Volume 4 that ends up being both conclusive and weirdly abrupt. There was some obvious retooling at some point in the middle of the story, particularly obvious with the villain Sugita's character design change, and the resolution to everything makes the series feel even more aimless than it was.

There are also plenty of distasteful, weird sex-adjacent things in this, but that almost goes without saying, doesn't it? It's written primarily for people who think pervs are funny, I guess. That distracted them from focusing on the parts of this that could have been a really good story.

Usotsuki Paradox review
***I apologize but unlike my other reviews this one contains spoilers throughout the entire review.***

Never in my life have I been so motivated to write a review even though it's like 2AM here. What started out as a funny ecchi comedy ended in the worst possible manner. Let's dive into why Usotsuki Paradox is a manga you should avoid.

Story: 2/10

I'll admit that the opening chapters had me quite interested in what was going on. Essentially the main female lead is part of a "long distance" relationship and decides that it would be ok for one of her co-workers to provide "emotional support". It starts out all innocent but they eventually move onto things that can never be forgotten. The thing is, this is not a bad plot device. In fact I really enjoyed the manga up until this point. The drama was intensifying as we had almost no data on the mystery long distance boyfriend and all our eggs was in the current basket.

What happens later on of course is that she goes to see mystery man and that just fu$#s up the whole rest of the manga. No joke it gets to the point where they actually tag team her. Gross. This manga had a lot of good things going for it but it descended into a lackluster reverse harem and when it tried to redeem itself by giving the main male lead a new flag to pursue, we get the cliché "they end up together anyways" (talking about the main male lead and the female lead). What's worse is that the author tries to make you think that it was the main male's fault for everything even though the female lead was ok with cheating on her own boyfriend. The only positive things I can say that were constant throughout the entire manga was the comedy and art style (see below).

The reason why I am not supplying names is because most of the manga is un-translated and while my Japanese is ok, names are still tough to pick out of the mess.

Art: 9.5/10

This aspect of the manga I actually really, really liked. Even though it looks a little messy and undefined, the way the characters were drawn really had me engaged. The female lead had really large inviting eyes and the male lead looked quite mature. The background scenes were very well done and all the side characters looked amazing as well.

Characters: 2/10

They really fell off the deep end in the second half of the manga. We get introduced to some asshole that we are somehow supposed to root for. The one strong female character in the manga decides to go soft and allow the male lead to get away, and the friends of the female lead do little to no help in resolving the conflict. The only character I really liked was the main male lead as he was pretty much tricked and provoked into initializing the faux relationship.

Overall: 4.5/10

The ending chapters really made me want to gag. Not only was it cliché as hell and disgusting beyond belief, it completely ruined what the first part of the manga tried to establish. If you want an ecchi comic then here is one; just be warned that any emotional attachment will just make you want to hate it even more in the end.

Enjoyment: START 9/10 ENDING 0.001/10

Thanks for reading my review! If you liked my writing style, would like to see some other reviews, or just want to talk, please stop by my page!

Sincerely,
Awesome Drummer

Okujou-hime review
This manga had a pretty pleasant start; maybe unoriginal, but not too bad. However, as the chapters progressed, it became clear to me that's all this manga was going to be. Let me tell you why.

The story, as said, started out fine, but unoriginal. That isn't a problem on its own, but paired with terrible pacing and weak development, the story quickly changed to a generic shoujo story: some normal guy meets a beautiful girl way better than him. For some unexplained reason, she is interested in our Generic Guy #2222. However, after some time it seems she actually wasn't interested, but due to pure believing, our main guy wins her over anyway.

The pacing was rather bad. Like before, the beginning starts out rather quickly; they start dating at the end of chapter 1. Then it slows down, and nothing happens until about the last 3 chapter, when everything gets magically resolved.

The way the story was presented was actually rather nice, so was the ending, which I find very important to any story.

A story like this can be forgiven, if it has interesting characters. If the story doesn't keep you interested, the characters should. Best case both do that. In this manga the story nor the characters seemed interesting.

The two main characters are just horrible. There's the main guy who does nothing but hope and believe his princess will come to him. The princess is the default perfect type with a "dark" secret that keeps her from being normal.

Secondary/less important characters include the childhood friend, who of course has had a crush on our main guy for some time, but he is too dense to notice. Out of all the characters, she is probably still my favourite, since she's believable. She manages to confess to the main guy, doesn't go all crazy when he loves someone else, and is just a reasonable, but still generic, character. Last there is the guy friend, who also happens to love the childhood friend, but for some reason doesn't have the balls to say or do anything useful.

If there must be a good part, it's the art, which is pretty good.

One more thing, this review might seem negative, but that's because I've focused on the negative parts. The TL;DR for this manga would be: generic story, generic characters, bad pacing, nice art.

Youhei Pierre review
Youhei Pierre takes place in 15th century, medieval France and it shows us a glance of Jeanne'd Arc, one very interesting and inspiring historical personnae, seen through the eyes of our protagonist, who is mercenary ringleader.

Right off the bat the " narrator " is filling you on alot of historical facts about the war between France and England, which is appreciated since you're not left out, wondering what's happening and all. Story-wise the manga is interesting, mostly because it's representing a place and period not common for your typical manga, so that keeps it fresh, and also because the interesting interaction between Jeanne and Pierre (the mercenary leader). Her naive and idealistic, even merciful approach to the war is totally conflicting with his well-calculated, cruel and effective methodology to fight, but in the same way, both characters influence eachother along the story. A problem you could find is, that basically this manga doesn't pay attention to any other characters out there, and almost all of them are kind of bland.

Art-wise, I think that's the biggest plus for this manga, it's rough sometimes, even gritty, but very detailed when it comes to showing castles/towers/weapons or armor, it's really pleasant to see the various battle scenes, the armaments of the combatants and generally the details concerning combat.

So to summarize, this manga is short, but very good read especially if you are into history, medieval warfare or looking at steel-clad knights mashing eachother, although by itself the conflicted dynamic of the main characters, as well as their personnal struggles on the background of the war, which is all around them, is enjoyable read in general.
