Zusammenfassung
Shinobu is a typical high school girl...with an atypical hatred of boys. Long ago, she was horribly raped in a dark room by one and hasn't been able to tolerate being near them since. Now Yokomizo has appeared before her--a boy who looks exactly like the one who raped her in the past. He's the last guy she wants to have around, but then he confesses his love to her.

ASA MO, HIRU MO, YORU MO review
If you love shy girls this is a must read manga...
A girl that has fear of boys, I really love girls like that. I wanna scare them more ^_^ same as bitter virgin though but there's no rape scene, the story is straight so every chapter is a must read. Good manga. Its just the drawing style is kinda average. |
ASA MO, HIRU MO, YORU MO review
->In short I'd only suggest it to (tsun)dere-lovers.
Asa mo, Hiru mo, Yoru mo was pretty disappointing, probably 'cause I just read Bitter Virgin but that doesn't change the fact that I didn't enjoy reading this one at all. The story or rather the concept was too blunt and ordinary. To explain the mains hatred for men the author used the 'was-raped-background' in an almost insulting way and that's all there is about background or story. Since the rest was simply boy-meets-girl/girl-meets-boy. Characters, well Shinobu is one, you'd most likely call tsundere, although she's more of the second part, and the male lead is (I forgot his name and I just read that Manga) hard to define: he's something between an all-nice-guy and a bastard. The Enjoyment was dreadful I cant remember when I last read something as bad as this without dropping it. But I won't say anything about the Art 'cause that's each to their own. Personally I didn't like it. Uhhhm thats all. This was my first review - so I'm sorry if screw up & thanks for reading. |
ASA MO, HIRU MO, YORU MO review
I give this manga a 7 without the summary in mind (its basically a comedy) because reading this after Bitter Virgin really showed the lack of seriousness of the RAPE topic.
Unlike Bitter Virgin, I felt that Asa mo, hiru mo, yoru mo lacked the ability to captivate me as a reader to its plot. To the point that it had me laughing at times (which lead me to rack this as a comedy manga). After the first volume, that is when I realised that her being raped was not the initial drive for the manga. So my advice when reading this manga is to think of her as a girl who just doesn't like boys for the reason you wish to make up teehehehe - ENJOY |
ASA MO, HIRU MO, YORU MO review
"Asa mo, Hiru mo, Yoru mo" has only the barest of shoujo-style plots where the troubled girl with the tragic past falls in love with the incredibly over committed handsome and popular high-school boy despite the fact that she rebuffs him at every turn due to her own insecurities.
On it's own, I don't have a problem with this plot, but that really comes down to how well it's executed and unfortunately in this manga the execution is poor. This is partially due to the fact that the overall story is very short as well as the fact that the characters seem to grow in odd bursts that don't make sense. Heck, I'm still trying to figure out what it was exactly that made Shinobu "thaw out" so quickly. In addition to the poor story and characterizations, the art quality of the book is also sub-standard. Not terrible mind you, but below what you might consider competently executed. Wrap it all up and you've got a short little story that is better off being given a miss. |
