Zusammenfassung
Kusumi Chiharu gets a message one day that he has been selected as a Monster Tamer, and he is prompted to select his first partner. He thinks little of the message until he receives a giant package the following day. He assumes it's the porn books he ordered, but the huge box ends up containing the unconscious body of a mostly naked girl! She's a ghoul named Zonmi, who intends to fight with him as his partner. However, it turns out that other hot girls at his mostly-male high school are also magical creatures, and Zonmi may not be the only one who wants to fight by his side!

Maou na Ore to Ghoul no Yubiwa review
There's something of substance in the premise here but that substance is greatly underutilized. There is a tremendous lack of explanation which makes everything feels random. The plot jumps around randomly pulling out plot points without properly developing them and hence having everything feeling rushed without actually giving a feeling of any structure or solid development. A good example of this is the ending, where they seem to pull an attempt at making the villains sympathetic, despite discussing how they massacred a heroine's family only a chapter or so before, and hence this fails to work at all. The characters too seem to have interesting personalities and traits in general, but the manga doesn't really
seem to develop that all that well at all and the unique traits of all the characters don't really shine through. The motivations for most characters, especially Zonmi, feel tremendously underdeveloped. And in the end, beyond possibly Manami, most of them feel quite forgettable. The art is pretty good.
tl;dr: A relatively interesting premise and characters but one that tries to push forward without properly developing anything at all. |
Maou na Ore to Ghoul no Yubiwa review
The story continues on Light Novel (from chapter 6 of volume 3: "The beginning of the end").
As I was extremely sad and frustrated with this abrupt end, as if the manga existed canceled, despite having my complaints with the prota, I liked the characters and really wanted to follow their development, the growing romance with each one, and really a Harem endless. But that end of the manga ended up with my heart and then I went looking for a freak, and really, apparently the manga was canceled, because the story continues on LN. I really had to read some chapters of the Novel to find out right and that's it. The manga adapts up to chapter 6 of volume 3 of Light Novel, both manga and light level up use the same name in this chapter: "The Beginning of the End". In this case, LN has 5 volumes in total. Soon there would be at least another 30 or even 50 chapters ahead, which unfortunately have not been adapted. LN is already finished, too , but it ended very closed, very good, enjoy so muuuch, obviously I would like it to show more, but I was happy that the author is not a coward like many there are. For those who liked the characters and want to know more about the story I recommend taking a look at Light Novel: 1. Anyone who wants to read the story from where the manga stopped, just go to chapter 6 of volume 3 of LN :: </b> https://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Maou_na_Ore_to_Fushihime_no_Yubiwa:Volume_3_Chapter_6 2. Anyone who does not enjoy reading LN and just wants to know how they ended, their romance / harem, see the Epilogue of volume 5, this is the end of the Work a very good ending, very satisfying something that MTS authors do not have the courage to do: https://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Maou_na_Ore_to_Fushihime_no_Yubiwa:Volume_5_Epilogue Below follows the link to read the LN with all the separate volumes, it is in English, but just put it in the Chrome extension there or directly in the mobile browser it translates to your language: https://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Maou_na_Ore_to_Fushihime_no_Yubiwa This was the first work of this author, Kankitsu Yusura, although I believe that it is the 2nd work that I liked the most, the 1st is Saikyou no Shuzoku ga Ningen Datta Ken, I really recommend it, I know that the abrupt end of the manga is frustrating (it wasn't him who did the manga, he only supervised it), but the manga publisher apparently didn’t think it was feasible to continue adapting and ended up like that, I highly recommend it, especially for those who continue on later in the novel. For those who want new novels, I recommend: 1. Saikyou no Shuzoku ga Ningen Datta Ken (by the same author as I mentioned above) 2. Bisque Sleep Doll wa Koi wo Suru 3. A Perverted Daily Life |
Maou na Ore to Ghoul no Yubiwa review
The positives
+This manga is fairly short and it does not drag the story out +The art is fair and looks nice during the action scenes Neutral aspects The characters in this manga span from very average and boring to interesting and entertaining. It will come down to whether you enjoy the stereotypes used in this manga. The negatives -The story is poor and not just because it's one that is fairly common in manga of this type, but because while reading you will find that you just don't care about the story. Overall this manga is not bad, but just very average. While I did enjoy reading through, it's not a manga that I would recommend unless you are board and have a little bit of free time and want to read a stereotypical action harem . |
Maou na Ore to Ghoul no Yubiwa review
One day you receive a text telling you to become the next elite, A Demon Tamer, and then you delete the text thinking it's just rubbish, the next day in the mail what do you receive? A beautiful ghoul girl. The basis of this manga is that the main character has three monster girls he has to become the master of. Along with a fun Harem, it also includes a great story, good art, and amazing character development. If you enjoy monster girls, harem, or just a great manga in general, please, enjoy this Manga to your hearts content!

Maou na Ore to Ghoul no Yubiwa review
Ladies and gentlemen, THIS is what people should be attacking instead of Isekai novels. Isekai novels have managed to go too far on their premises that only get sillier with time and are an easy target of mockery, but most of them are mediocre due to being just pastiches one of another. THIS? If people looked at this, even the most cliché Isekai will look like breath of fresh air. Characters are as a stereotypically 1 dimensional as they can, the plot is nonexistent, the fan service is abundant despite being severely lacking at the same time, I would have an opinion on the world
building if there was any, just about everything in this novel fails. You need to turn your brain off to even get some enjoyment from this, because it doesn't even work as a guilty pleasure tbh. This novel is honestly the proof Hobby Japan will publish anything that has cute girls on the cover, and that's all this novel has going on in it, the only memorable character is the MC's incestous sister, and for all the wrong reasons. Seriously, if you think the Isekai genre is stale state and has make you lost your faith on LNs, read this one and you'll see they could be doing much worse, because I see no other merit to reading this and I would, in fact, recommend avoiding it.

Maou na Ore to Ghoul no Yubiwa review
tl;dr: A series that’s pretty by the book in most aspects and not a particularly good implementation in most ways but still manages to be really amusing at times.
This wasn’t bad and was reasonably amusing but overall felt pretty amateurish and generic in a lot of aspects. The overarching plot was the standard separate factions trying to get along but with those opposing peace on both sides, plus on the side a villainous group that’s supposed to be sympathetic due to all the trauma they’ve faced but still needs to be taken down. It was very by the book in terms of world building, and the twists felt like they weren’t really built up well in terms of foreshadowing, but were still incredibly predictable just because of how standard they were. It wasn’t a very good implementation of these standard building blocks either, feeling a bit too random. The smaller plots were also incredibly simple, mostly simply coming down to Black Tamers attacking them and them fighting them off. There was various stuff that happened around that, but it didn’t feel that substantial and was pretty random. The main characters, Chiharu, Manami, Zonmi, Kyouka, and Iris, were pretty flat with not very strongly defined personalities. They all had character arcs with character and relationship development, but they were pretty much exactly what you’d expect upon their introduction, so pretty generic, and didn’t really make any unique personality traits stand out, so it didn’t help in making them more likable. The implementation of the character and relationship development wasn’t amazing, but was reasonably solid with most characters getting at least one really good moment. Still, that wasn't enough to counteract the other issues and thus in the end they didn’t feel particularly memorable. The exceptions were the little sister, Manami, who was hilarious and surprisingly the mother, whose personality I was not expecting at all as its pretty rare. The other side characters were even flatter and generally had no development, but also had some amusing moments. The parts of the series that were the best were the parts that didn’t have much plot and weren’t all that focused on character or relationship development either, but rather focused on just showing off the characters while crazy hijinks ensue, which were incredibly amusing a lot of the time. The best example of that was the first half of the final novel. The last novel all around was actually the best I would say by a good margin. In addition to the first half being quite amusing, the final battle was pretty solid and quite a bit better than all the battles before it. The epilogue was also pretty much the perfect way to end things. So, all around I was satisfied with the ending. The writing was so cheesy at times I wasn’t sure if it was trying to be satirical or not, but that just may have come down to the fan translation, which is funny in its own way. The fan translation in general though wasn’t very good with incredibly stiff and awkward language that didn’t make sense at times. The art and character designs weren’t that great, okay at best. |
