Ashigei Shoujo Komura-san review
I-I MUST SNIFF, *SNNNNNNNNIIIIIIIIIIIIFFFFFFFF** OH GOD F*CCKK, HUHGHU, *SNIIFF*, HUHGJGUHHGUGHU, I-I-IM COOOMING!!!!!
Yeah it's good, I guess. I mean this Manga even has (*ATTENTION MAJOR SPOILERS INCOMING*) a Bob Ross reference, happy feet... happy feet :') If I were you, I'd stop reading this and immediately get into this Manga! You don't like feet you say? Don't worry, our Main Protagonist (Every single square foot that her (The lady of feet thing magic thing) feet touch) also has some nice action. My feet are now able to express emotions, that's how good this Manga is. It's clearly a work of art, and I'll quote what 2 a random side-chars said to further prove my point: "That's so cool! It looks like real art!" and "I can feel the imagination.". Still reading this? You clearly got a problem, that's why you're on this page, reading this comment to begin with... You should be reading the manga already! Have a good one~ |
Ashigei Shoujo Komura-san review
Again, what more can you expect from this manga? It's a foot fetish work. So going into it, there obviously won't be some overarching story. The basic idea gets old. As for this being a romance manga...it can't even do that. The relationship between the two is unconvincing and is incredibly slow-paced. I just do not buy any bonding.
As for the art, well since it is obviously trying to appeal to those with foot fetishes, it does it adequately. The art isn't bad, but none of it comes off as provocative. The manga to me tries too hard to be "sexy" with Komura performing stunts that at first appear anatomically impossible. She is flexible, but that is taking it much too far past the point of disbelief. And there are scenes where her feet get sweaty which is admittedly nauseating. Just nothing about how the feet are drawn appealing in the slightest. Characters. Both Tsukinaga and Komura are flat. Komura comes off as energetic and oftentimes naïve. She isn't downright hateable, but at the same time, her main schtick is that she does several tasks with her feet. She is nothing more than a walking example of fanservice for fanservice's sake. Tsukinaga is a boring protagonist with his only unique trait being that he loved animals. Minor characters include the public morals officer who carried around a wooden sword. She is simply terrible. She is like that rash that annoys you and you try to scratch at but can't completely get rid of. The owner of the school shop is opportunistic and comes off as just horrible. None of the characters stand out as great and there isn't much a reason as to why you should care about them either. This manga, as I should remind you, was really only made to appeal to people with foot fetishes, and for that, I feel it does its job. But it's a double-edged sword. It sacrifices itself catering to a very specific demographic, but that's all it has to offer. |
Ashigei Shoujo Komura-san review
tl;dr: If you have a foot fetish, then this manga is probably for you otherwise you'd best not read
Plot: Fairly simple one consisting of a chapter-based style story which revolves around our protagonist following around the eccentric girl Komura, as she does various tasks that one normally would use their hands for, with her feet. There are all kinds of foot-related fetish's going on, from feet kissing to feet holding to even making noodles out of feet. There's also slight glimpses of romance, and while they are pretty cute moments, don't last too long to write about Art: The art is fairly good, fits the overall atmosphere of the manga well and the feet certainly have their attention to detail Character: Character's as well I didn't find to be too bad. You have your typical MC who acts as the straight man character in all the situations and gets dragged around by the female lead. You also have your eccentric female lead who is very skilled at using her feet to do pretty much anything (and I mean literally anything) Enjoyment: I didn't find this series to be too bad in terms of having a good time, from a personal standpoint I would've liked some more romance but it's nothing to get salty over. If the thought of using your feet to do certain things sounds disturbing to you then you'd be best avoiding this as they are quite a few things done which seem kinda unpleasant being done with feet but if you're a foot degenerate then you'll have a field day |
Ashigei Shoujo Komura-san review
I have a foot fetish.
The art is actually insanely good even not accounting for that fact; the artist has an incredible mastery over anatomy thats honestly awe inspiring. The fluidity of the main character's foot work, the implied dexterity without the bodies looking strange, and the character staging/ physical interactions are genuinely on tier with many renowned martial arts manga. The story is nothing to write about, got axed so it ends super shitty. But its just engaging enough and even if youre not into feet the haha funny of lol feet is probably enough to make this worth your time, given it can be binged in like 3 hours. Feet. |
Ashigei Shoujo Komura-san review
Ashigei Shoujo Komura-san is not good.
For people who have feet fetishes and read the manga to get their daily dose of sexual satisfaction, it ends up feeling like that one day where you go to school but none of your friends did and you sat at lunch in awkward silence. For people who aren't into feet and were searching for a comedic slice of life manga to pass the time on, it fails on every end except one, which in the grand scheme of things doesn't really matter at all. Story: 1 The premise isn't interesting. It just isn't. I implore you to tell me what differentiates this story from any other SoL or even why you are supposed to come back each week to update yourself on the "story", implying there was a story to begin with. The manga disrespects the audience by adding in irrelevant characters to "challenge" Komura. This could have been an attempt at adding conflict. I don't know, I don't like it and I certainly, definitely, without the shadow of a doubt, don't care for it. Art: 8 Hey, this is the part that I enjoyed. It's true, the manga looks good, the art pops, and the style is recognizable. It fits the atmosphere very well. Unfortunately, I will now forever recognize this art style as the art style that this god forsaken manga was drawn in. Basically, while bad art can make a great manga seem worse, great art can never make a bad manga better. Character: 1 The characters aren't interesting, complex, multi-dimensional, or mysterious. And while a SoL doesn't need any of those values in characters, the characters in Ashigei Shoujo Komura-san don't even have motivations. If they do, it's nonsensical. Without motivations or intriguing traits, why do I even care about these characters? And so I don't. I don't care for the main character whose name I have forgot or Komura whose name I only remember because it's in the title. Enjoyment: 1 This is redundant at this point but this manga is not meant to be enjoyed. It almost feels like a crime to read this manga while doing anything enjoyable such as sipping a nice, warm cup of tea or bathing in the light of the sun because it's just so repulsive. It might be somewhat enjoyable relative to the grating sound of nails on a chalkboard or stepping on legos. I only read every chapter because I only give anime/manga ratings after I've seen the whole thing. Overall: 1 I don't care if the art is good when the story and characters suck. There were multiple occasions where I wondered if a fast one was being pulled on me and the whole manga itself was a parody of similarly dreadful, uninteresting, light SoL's that only exist because they "don't hurt anyone". The ending is a poor attempt at being emotional and investable and manga like this hurt not just the legitimacy of the platform as something for great storytelling but undermine other SoL's attempts at actually weaving interesting stories. It IS harmful. To the viewer who comes to believe this is the standard, to the mangaka who is writing a genuinely good story but sees stories like this overshadow their work, Ashigei Shoujo Komura-san offends me. With nothing worthy of adoration or analysis and certainly no soul or passion or even appreciation for the medium of manga itself, Ashigei Shoujo Komura-san scores a 1/10 for me. Do I recommend the manga? Sure, every manga deserves a read and taste is subjective. |
Ashigei Shoujo Komura-san review
Do you like feet? Do you find them... sexy? Then go ahead and read the One -shot that came out before this manga. It will fulfill all your foot fetishy needs without wasting your time. It is to the point, short, and kinda provocative I guess. In comparison the full version of this manga is nothing but an uninteresting slog that was a complete waste of my time and sanity.
Story: The story is a perfect example of a Romantic "Comedy" spinning its wheels until its forced to rush to the end at a lightning pace. For the first 55 chapters of the series, almost no progress is made before the author managed to force a really rough ending out of the last couple chapters. My best guess is that it was axed and forced to end prematurely. That being said I am not surprised that it was cancelled. The story was altogether dreadful and uninteresting in the slightest. Every chapter just tried its best to bend the foot girl in the most provocative way possible that it started to feel repetitive and boring. The only reason I managed to finish it was because I justified it to myself with its short length. Art: The art isn't anything particularly special and ends up feeling gross more than ever. The girls are drawn in the most uncomfortable way possible with an emphasis on sweaty feat, puffy crotches, and taped on breasts. Maybe its just because none of those things are my fetishes, but I ended up just feeling gross and uncomfortable for most of my time reading it. Characters: Here we have on display several large pieces of paper with sweaty and physics defying feet. The main guy character is also a sheet of paper with the small quirk that he really likes animals. That actual quirk is probably the most interesting thing about any of the characters here. All of the major cast members are uninteresting and leave a lot to be desired. End: I think I've more than succinctly summed this up. In the end I suggest finding some well drawn foot fetish related hentai instead. It'll probably give you what you want without a bland story that doesn't go anywhere getting in the way. |
