Kimetsu no Yaiba review
A truly beautiful story in the shounen genre that also touches on many more topics that go beyond the usual assumptions about the category.
Now that it has reached its ending I think it deserves a thorough review so I'll give it a shot. While the story itself is not perfect, it is very well done and delivers on the promise it makes when you get into the story. The characters are honestly some of the best and most likeable and have good chemistry, although some of the humor relies on character quirks that function as running jokes. The series is surprisingly funny at times and I did like the sense of humor. The characters are for the most part very human and therefore flawed, but also very endearing which raises the stakes of the story as it should. All in all I enjoyed the manga a lot and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys well done fight scenes and outstanding characters. |
Kimetsu no Yaiba review
I had a lot of fun reading this manga honestly. The artwork at times was just downright amazing, and I think what stuck out to me the most was probably the characters.
My biggest praise for this manga is how the characters were written and how you got to learn more about them later on. Also, no matter how you actually feel about the series is, you have to admit that they all look pretty original from characters from other animes (like sao with all of the characters looking really unoriginal in my opinion...) Now... here are my complaints. The ending felt SO rushed, that it just made me feel sad. The series that I had been enjoying for over a year felt like it had been wadded up into a ball and thrown into a dumpster fire. If they would have added more of an explanation to what happened to all of the main characters in the end I wouldn't be saying this though. Also for people who start the series, I could understand why it can be hard to actually get into it because the plot is REALLY slow in the beginning. But of course, that's the beginning, and that clearly changes after awhile. So to all the people considering to start it, maybe keep these things in mind, and also just keep reading through it, even if the plot can kinda be a bore at first. |
Kimetsu no Yaiba review
Story - 7
Standard shounen type story. Interesting power/magic system. Pacing is fast and jam packed. (it's like sprinting in a marathon match) Have linear storytelling. (only give us a breather right before the last arc) Art - 7 Kinda good and artistic, but pale in comparison to its anime in every aspect.(currently, the only series i like watching the anime more than reading the manga) Character - 7 Great characters design. Good portrayal of empathy from main character. Lack of character development (flashback is not character development, it's a tool to aid character development) make me couldn't care less about characters death. (good guys or bad guys) Enjoyment - 7 Each chapter, I always though the current chapter could be better and the next chapter would be better. (but nope, its a 7 from start to finish) Really really disappointing ending. (it's more of a fan-service than a proper ending) I really hate when a character get resurrected, while its resurrection contribute nothing to overall story. Overall - 7 For me, pacing is really the issue in this series. While no chapter feel like a filler, it's really damaging immersion, character development and world building it has. All in all, Kimetsu no Yaiba is a good Shounen Manga but nothing groundbreaking or praiseworthy. |
Kimetsu no Yaiba review
I personally adore this Manga! I absolutely loved it! It had a gripping story with gorgeous art and phenomenal characters!
This Manga is not perfect I do agree with some complaints, for example, the muzan fight ended too quickly, and muzan himself did not have enough development but I personally felt that it didn't take away from the experience much. I barely even noticed it on the first read. This is because of the excellent character writing in this manga. I can not understate how much I adore every single character! Also, I cried far too much... My final thoughts are This manga is amazing and I highly recommend it! Espically if you love character-focused works! |
Kimetsu no Yaiba review
{ My goal is to write reviews that don't take much time to read, yet get the point across, as well as being as spoiler-free as possible. Please be assured that you will learn nothing you can't already read in the synopsis unless mentioned priorly }
Breath-taking, marvellous, impeccable manga. No matter how hard I try to see any hint of imperfections I cannot. For starters, the story. The plot had all sorts of twists and turns. I couldn't stop reading it once I got through the bit I had watched in the anime. You laugh, cry, and rage all at once. The events flow together and come as one. All the heart-wrenching moments and many many tears made it incredible in so many ways. The art is divine. The backgrounds are jaw-dropping. Everything is so wonderfully illustrated it's hard to believe its real. When characters would bend their bodies in all sorts of ways, Koyoharu Goutouge somehow manages to still make it look amazing. The art style was stunning, differing from typical manga style yet still staying true to its roots as well. I loved how the eyes looked and the details that were put into every single frame. The characters, what can I say. All their personalities were unique and varied. I loved how much of a dumbass Insouke was and how not all the demon slayers were "I wanna kill all demons" (Zenitsu) it brings the diversity into Kimetsu no Yaiba as a whole. The stories of each of the characters had me in tears basically the whole time I was reading it. For better or for worse they made the characters realistic. ex: a guy lost his eye and arm so he had to retire, instead of magical recovery after a day and some characters die, but like die die. Once they're gone, they're gone. You get attached to the characters the more you read about it, which yes, makes it more painful when they die, but adds more to the depth of it all. So lemme say something real quick, all these haters out there don't listen to them. In reality, Kimetsu no Yaiba is (in my opinion) THE best manga and anime there is out there. Especially the manga, the anime is without a doubt extraordinary as well, but the manga brings in so many more levels of emotions. An absolutely astonishing story, my respect to Koyoharu and GET READING!!! Sorry, this review was so long, I just love KNY too much. |
Kimetsu no Yaiba review
First off the synopsis "A family is attacked by demons and only two members survive - Tanjiro and his sister Nezuko, who is turning into a demon slowly. Tanjiro sets out to become a demon slayer to avenge his family and cure his sister. ... Demon Slayer focuses on Tanjirou Kamado, who is still very young, but is the only man in his family.".
As many of you know the first 50 chapters have already been adapted in anime so i recommend that you first watch the anime, That said if you haven't watched the anime, i highly suggest you do if you want a great experience. With that out of the way i can now finally talk about the manga Demon Slayer (Also known as Kimetsu no Yaiba) is set in the 1910's. Areas where stuff happens, is in somewhere between the urban cities and mountains After the anime, you have to start in chapter 54 which is where the movie starts. As someone who likes shounen anime, i find Demon Slayer one of, if not the best shounen anime to read/watch. If you're someone who enjoys action and shounen anime this is for you. So. Should you watch/read Demon Slayer? Short answer, Y E S. Every single page is filled with love and dedication from the author and the comedy bits make you laugh at the top of you're lungs However, the manga has some shortcomings. For instance there are some plot points that just don't get explored as much as others, and some characters don't get as much screen time as others. But, don't stop these shortcomings from holding you back from reading this manga. I promise you it'll be worth while |
Kimetsu no Yaiba review
contains spoiler
as this is my first review, many things may be incomplete or done wrong story: 5 the work had everything to be incredible, but when it reached its final bows, the work began to fail miserably, like the final twist of the story, the villain who could be incredible and was reduced to a joke, the transformation of tanjirou and its end art: 6 art may not be as good as a "common" manga, but it can convey what is necessary for an understanding of history characters: 7 Tanjirou: the protagonist is a great character with a good characteristic (empathy) that sets him apart from the other characters Nezuko: it's just for fanservice and when there is an evolution in the work it becomes an extra the boar: inosuke-sama is the king Zenitsu: when he is not being super boring, he is a good character (his double “personality” was a good thing and should have been better developed) others: they are very standardized and easily forgettable overalll: in its beginning until its half it was interesting to be read but in the final stretch it lost its luster. overall it was a good job with a horrible ending in my view, as it has many open points. |
Kimetsu no Yaiba review
As of finishing it : Pain. Nothing but pain.
This manga doesn't try to do anything new and it truly doesn't need to. It's very straightforward and very well told. It also is extremely emotionally painful at nearly every turn. Every character, villain or not, gets their tragic-yet-happy backstory that could stand alone as a short but sweet shortstory. This is where Kimetsu no Yaiba shines and ropes you in by making you have to empathize with every. single. fucking. character. while also telling an interesting tale of a non overpowered hero in a fleshed out beautiful world whose driven by his love and humanity rather than for something as abstract as friendship or for his own ego. It's just... really good. However it's far more of an emotional story than an action one, so if you you're expecting otherwise I can see how someone would be let down. |
Kimetsu no Yaiba review
im not any sort of literary genius but i thought this series was super enjoyable :) i really got to love all of the characters, and it's core messages, although basic, hit hard and really resonated with me. i thought that the characters were all very lovable even if i had to warm up to them. the character design is strong and their personalities stand out from each other. despite plot armor for the main cast there were moments when i genuinely worried that they could be killed off. theres a definite turning point where you begin to feel like any of the characters could
die during a battle but i wont spoil anything.
i think this manga is super endearing and emotional. i laughed and cried and overall just had a really good read :) im really excited to see how the anime continues to adapt the material. |
